ThinkPad R40 (B card) laptop won't allow connection on Wireless G router that is WPA encrypted...suggestions? - thinkpad g
I tried everything I know how, but the options for network connections, you can only select WEP. Is it possible to configure the laptop so that a connection to a WPA encryption, or do I reset the router with WEP-128? I had problems with my laptop the other (the Vista operating system), the WEP 128 combines well, I will keep the EPA, if possible. Thank you for your help in advance!

The sad truth is that not all 802.11b card driver available to EPA have support. I tried with several cards, the firmware update etc only to find, does not work, at least not as it should. You must place it in relation to these cards, while older technologies.
There are a few options. You can run WEP can (have no insurance, but better than nothing at all clear) to the SSID and MAC address filtering. Or you can upgrade the card to those who actually support WPA.
WEP-128 disabled with the SSID and MAC address filtering is strong enough .. There are many easy targets, why a manager of time / waste pirate?
Merry Christmas and God bless
I think it's a driver problem (or firmware). I suggest looking for an updated driver for your card and details of additional drivers. If you do not find it or not, I propose to begin reloading the NIC interface and over again.
